![]() If I had to compare it to anything it'd be like how I prefer the original Donkey Kong Country to either of its sequels - while I'll acknowledge DKC2 is a functionally better game, I think its design is inherently more "this is a video game" than the first which had a much more natural aesthetic, if that makes sense at all. I have since then played through the second game (via remaster) and third (the original, when I decided to finally try the second game, but couldn't find it at any of the second-hand stores nearby and settled for the third one instead), and they're both fine games, but just something about the first, I dunno. I liked the dragons and gnorcs from the first game, then he's friends with a leopard in the second game? Dumb. ![]() I dunno what it is about the other two games but even as a kid I just had little interest in playing them compared to the first game.
